AER approves TOD Markets as a Market Liquidity Obligation venue

The Australian Energy Regulator has approved TOD Markets as a Market Liquidity Obligation (MLO) venue under the Retailer Reliability Obligation framework, along with four TOD Markets electricity derivative products for MLO trading.

The Australian Energy Regulator has approved TOD Markets as a Market Liquidity Obligation (MLO) venue under the Retailer Reliability Obligation framework.

The approval enables obligated parties to use TOD Markets to trade approved MLO products where the obligation is triggered.

The AER also approved four TOD Markets electricity derivative products for MLO trading: the Flat Day Swap, Evening Peak Swap, $300 Flat Cap and $600 Flat Cap.

The decision expands the venues and products available under the MLO framework and recognises TOD Markets as regulated market infrastructure supporting liquidity and price transparency in Australia’s wholesale electricity derivatives market.

TOD Markets will continue working with market participants to develop transparent and tradeable risk-management products suited to the changing shape of the National Electricity Market.
